Friday Recap and weekly updates

2 min read•Updated Sep 20, 2026

Overview

Friday Recap highlights the week’s most important documentation and code changes pulled from your connected GitHub repositories. You’ll see a short summary with an impact line, plus links back into Moxie Docs to review suggested doc updates and recent PR-driven changelog entries. You can optionally receive these weekly highlights in Slack or by email, and you can dismiss on-screen recap prompts you don’t need. You control weekly recap emails and documentation nudges from your account’s email preferences.

When to use it

  • Stay on top of doc drift and code changes without checking every repo.
  • Share weekly highlights with your team in Slack.
  • Quickly decide which suggested doc updates to review or approve.
  • Reduce noise by dismissing recap prompts you’ve already handled.

How to use it

  1. Open the Docs dashboard. You’ll find Friday Recap cards showing the week’s highlights with an impact line.
  2. Scan the recap summary. Look for items like suggested doc PRs, recent changelog entries from merged code, and flagged drift.
  3. Click any recap item to review details. From there, you can open suggested doc PRs, read changelog notes, or continue to related Q&A.
  4. Decide what needs action. Approve or request changes on suggested doc updates, or mark items as reviewed in your normal docs workflow.
  5. Dismiss a recap prompt if you’re done. Use the dismissal on the recap card to remove it from view.
  6. (Optional) Enable Slack notifications so weekly highlights post to your team’s Slack. Use your Slack integration and confirm you want Friday Recap updates delivered there.
  7. (Optional) Manage email delivery for weekly recaps and documentation nudges. Open your account settings and update your email preferences to receive or stop these messages.

Receive Slack or email notifications

  1. Enable Slack notifications if your team wants updates in a channel. Once enabled, Friday Recap highlights will be sent to Slack each week.
  2. Update email preferences in your account settings to receive weekly recaps and documentation nudges, or to turn them off.

Options and settings

  • Friday Recap cards: show weekly highlights with an impact line and links to details.
  • Dismiss recap: remove a recap prompt you no longer need.
  • Slack notifications: optional delivery of weekly highlights to Slack when your Slack integration is enabled.
  • Email preferences: control weekly recaps and documentation nudges delivered by email from your account settings.

Tips

  • If you don’t see a Friday Recap, check back at the end of the week or confirm your GitHub repository is connected to Moxie Docs.
  • Dismissing a recap only affects your view; you can still access underlying items from the Docs dashboard (e.g., changelog, suggested doc PRs).
  • Keep email recaps on if you’re away from the dashboard often; turn them off if you rely on Slack instead.
