Stripe billing setup and syncing

2 min read•Updated Sep 20, 2026

This page shows you how to start a Moxie Docs subscription with Stripe Checkout, manage it in the Stripe Customer Portal, and understand how plan changes affect your workspace and connected repositories.

What you’ll need

  • A Moxie Docs workspace
  • Permission to manage billing for your workspace

Start a subscription with Stripe Checkout

  1. Open your Moxie Docs workspace.
  2. Click your profile menu and select Workspace settings.
  3. Go to the Billing tab.
  4. Click Choose a plan to open Stripe Checkout.
  5. Select your plan and any available trial, then enter your payment details.
  6. Confirm the purchase. You’ll be returned to Moxie Docs.

After checkout, your workspace shows the active plan and renewal date on the Billing tab.

Manage your subscription in the Customer Portal

Use the Stripe Customer Portal to update payment methods, change plans, or cancel.

  1. Open your workspace Billing tab in Moxie Docs.
  2. Click Manage in Stripe. This opens the Stripe Customer Portal.
  3. In the portal, you can:
    • Update payment methods and billing details
    • Change plans
    • View invoices and receipts
    • Cancel your subscription
  4. Save your changes and return to Moxie Docs.

Your workspace billing status updates automatically after you make changes in the portal.

How plan changes sync to your workspace and repositories

Moxie Docs keeps your billing status in sync and applies plan limits to your workspace and connected repositories.

  • When you start a trial or activate a paid plan, features and limits included in your plan become available across your workspace.
  • When you upgrade, higher limits (for example, more repositories or automation capacity) are unlocked for all connected repos in that workspace.
  • When you downgrade, limits adjust accordingly. If you’re over a new limit, Moxie Docs guides you to choose which repositories remain active.
  • If your subscription is canceled or a payment fails, affected features are paused according to your plan’s rules. You can restore access by updating payment and reactivating in the Customer Portal.
  • The Billing tab shows your current plan, trial status (if applicable), next charge date, and any limit usage so you can see what’s applied to each repository.

Verify your subscription status

  1. Open your workspace Billing tab in Moxie Docs.
  2. Check the Plan, Status (Active, Trialing, Canceled), and Next charge date.
  3. Review any limit indicators to see how they impact connected repositories.

Troubleshooting

  • Changes not showing? Refresh the Billing tab after a few minutes. Billing status updates shortly after you finish in the Customer Portal.
  • Need to switch plans but you’re over a limit? Adjust active repositories when prompted, then confirm the change.
  • Payment issues? Open Manage in Stripe from the Billing tab to update your payment method or retry a payment.

If you still need help, contact support from the Help menu in Moxie Docs with your workspace name and a brief description of the issue.
