Workspace onboarding and invitations

Overview

Use workspace onboarding to bring your team into Moxie Docs so everyone can work from the Docs dashboard. You’ll sign in with GitHub, connect the repositories you want Moxie Docs to index, invite teammates, and help them accept. Once everyone is in, the team can see Q&A, review the changelog from pull requests, get Friday Recaps, and manage per‑repo automation from the shared dashboard.

When to use it

  • You’re setting up Moxie Docs for your organization for the first time.
  • You need to add teammates so they can review docs and PR-driven changes.
  • You want everyone working from the same Docs dashboard across connected repos.
  • You’re ready to expand access as more repos are connected.

How to use it

  1. Open Moxie Docs in your browser.
  2. Start GitHub sign‑in by going to “Sign in with GitHub.” This begins GitHub OAuth and preserves a safe redirect back to your Docs dashboard.
  3. Authorize on GitHub when prompted. Follow GitHub’s screens to grant access and, if needed, install the GitHub app for the repos you want to use.
  4. Return to the Docs dashboard after GitHub redirects you back. You’ll land on the dashboard for your workspace.
  5. Connect the GitHub repositories you want Moxie Docs to use. Select the repos you want indexed so the dashboard can show Q&A, the changelog from pull requests, and Friday Recaps.
  6. Invite your teammates from the Docs dashboard. Use the invitation option you see on the dashboard to add the people who should collaborate in this workspace.
  7. For each teammate: Ask them to accept the invitation in their email or on the Docs dashboard if they sign in directly.
  8. Teammates should Sign in with GitHub using the same “Sign in with GitHub” button, then Authorize on GitHub if prompted. They’ll be redirected back to the Docs dashboard and added to the workspace once they accept.
  9. As a team, Review the dashboard together: use Q&A for questions, check the changelog from pull requests, scan Friday Recaps, and adjust per‑repo automation controls as needed.

Options and settings

  • GitHub sign‑in: Starts OAuth at “Sign in with GitHub,” redirects to GitHub, then returns you to the Docs dashboard with a safe post‑auth redirect.
  • Repository selection: Choose which GitHub repositories to connect so they appear in the Docs dashboard and feed Q&A, changelog, and Friday Recaps.
  • Per‑repo automation controls: Manage automation behavior per repository from the Docs dashboard.

Tips

  • Make sure the person connecting repos has permission on GitHub to authorize access to those repositories.
  • If a teammate can’t see the workspace after accepting, have them sign out and use “Sign in with GitHub” again to complete the redirect back to the Docs dashboard.
  • You can add more repositories later; newly connected repos will populate the dashboard and related views once authorized.
