Workspace onboarding and invitations

3 min read•Updated Jul 21, 2026

Overview

Use workspace invitations to get teammates into your Moxie Docs workspace and make sure you land in the right place the first time you sign in. You can accept an invitation you received, cancel an invitation you sent that’s still pending, and finish onboarding so you arrive at your team’s dashboard. Nothing is published without human approval, and invitations only grant access to your workspace.

When to use it

  • Invite teammates who help review or merge documentation pull requests.
  • Accept an invite you received so you can see PR opportunity cards and the team dashboard.
  • Cancel a pending invite you sent to the wrong address or no longer need.
  • Start your first session in the correct workspace after sign-in.

How to use it

Accept a workspace invitation

  1. Open the invitation link from your email. This link takes you to Moxie Docs to join the workspace.
  2. Sign in with your GitHub account if prompted. Moxie Docs connects via a GitHub App to work with your repos.
  3. Confirm the workspace shown on screen matches the one that invited you, then click Join to accept the invite.
  4. Follow any prompts to finish onboarding. When complete, you are redirected to the workspace dashboard.

Land in the right workspace on first login

  1. Use your invitation link the first time you sign in. This ensures you join and land in the inviting workspace.
  2. Check the workspace name shown after sign-in. If it’s not the team you expect, return to the original invite link and open it again while signed in to switch to the correct workspace.
  3. Bookmark the dashboard once you’re in the right workspace so you can return there directly.

Cancel a pending invite you sent

  1. Open Moxie Docs and go to your workspace dashboard.
  2. Open the area where you manage team invitations. Locate the person with a pending status.
  3. Select the pending invite and cancel it. The person will no longer be able to join from that invite link.

Dismiss a Friday recap item (if it includes an invite or repository action)

  1. Open Docs, find the Friday recap item tied to a repository.
  2. Click Dismiss if you don’t need to take action. You’ll stay in your current context or return to the dashboard depending on where you dismissed it.

Options and settings

  • Join: Accepts your workspace invite and redirects you to the dashboard.
  • Dismiss (Friday recap item): Removes the recap item. You may be redirected to the dashboard.
  • Pending invite controls: Lets you cancel an invite you previously sent.

Tips

  • Always use the invite link to join the correct workspace, especially on your first login.
  • If an invite has been canceled, the link will no longer work. Ask the sender to issue a new invite.
  • If you manage billing and you see a prompt to subscribe during onboarding, complete checkout to enable team access, then return to your dashboard.
  • You can be a member of multiple workspaces. Use the invite link or your dashboard to confirm which workspace you’re in before working on documentation.
