Tune repository automation settings
2 min readUpdated
Overview
Use your workspace's Automation settings to control what Moxie Docs flags as documentation drift and how it behaves on pull requests. Settings apply to the repository you have active, so switch repositories first if you manage more than one.
When to use it
- You want to turn specific drift detectors on or off.
- You want Moxie's PR description help to be more or less hands-on.
- You want AGENTS.md and skill files kept current automatically, or not.
- You're seeing findings that don't matter for your codebase and want fewer of them.
How to use it
- Open Account settings and go to the Automation group.
- Open the Documentation tab to control what Moxie flags.
- Switch to the "What's flagged" section and toggle detectors on or off: Stale content, Thin docs, Convention mismatch, and Undocumented areas.
- Open the Pull requests tab to control how Moxie behaves on PRs.
- Set PR description alignment to Off, Suggest, or Rewrite, depending on how hands-on you want Moxie's description help to be.
- Toggle "Moxie Docs reviews PRs" to turn convention review comments on PRs on or off.
- Toggle "Write templates to repo" and "Keep AGENTS.md & Skills current" to control those automations independently.
- Save each section as you change it.
- Open a test PR afterward to confirm the behavior matches what you configured.
Options and settings
- Detectors (Documentation → What's flagged): Stale content, Thin docs, Convention mismatch, Undocumented areas — each is an independent on/off toggle.
- PR description alignment (Pull requests tab): Off, Suggest, or Rewrite — controls how much Moxie edits PR descriptions.
- Moxie Docs reviews PRs: On/Off. Posts a review comment with convention findings on new PRs.
- Write templates to repo: On/Off. Saves your PR templates to GitHub's native template picker.
- Keep AGENTS.md & Skills current: On/Off. Moxie proposes updates to your agent-guidance files when they drift.
Tips
- If a detector consistently flags things that don't matter for your codebase, turn it off rather than dismissing the same finding repeatedly.
- Start PR description alignment on Suggest before moving to Rewrite, so you can see what Moxie would change before it changes it automatically.
- These settings are per-repository — if automation behaves differently on another repo, check that repo's own Automation settings.
